Description
The Genius of 100 Years
What does it mean to be 100 today?
A special children’s event celebrating the life and lessons of 100 year Seacoast citizen, Graham Alvord. We will be showing two 10 minute films about the life of Graham Alvord and then a fun Q&A. What do YOU want to ask someone who was born in 1916?!
Graham was born over a century ago and has lived most of his life in Kittery Point, Maine.
Mr. Alvord served during World War II on a munitions ship as a Naval Officer. His ship was the first one to land on the beach in Normandy on D-Day. He was received by the Queen of England and many other heads of state at the 70th Anniversary of the D-Day. He received the Legion of Honor from the French Government—it’s highest medal. He was recently honored as the oldest living graduate of Harvard University.
His life was spent mostly quietly and lovingly with his family, but in between there were quite a few momentous occasions that we will be sharing and exploring.
This is a “Special Edition” of CreativeMornings PKX. We are holding 30 tickets for school aged children 1st grade through 7th grade. Please email portsmouth@creativemornings.com if you would like to reserve seats before registration opens on the 14th.
