PMAC's Unity of Sound Music Festival to Feature More than 200 Seacoast Musicians
PORTSMOUTH — More than 200 Seacoast adults will take the stage on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Unity of Sound, a community music festival hosted by Portsmouth Music and Arts Center (PMAC) at Portsmouth Middle School from 12–5 p.m. The festival features 18 adult music ensembles performing a wide range of styles—from bluegrass and jazz to choral, rock, classical, and more.
Unity of Sound is a celebration of community, creativity, and the joy of making music at any age. Many of the performers are adults ages 65 and older, participating in PMAC’s Creative Aging Program, which provides free and reduced tuition to help ensure music and art experiences remain accessible later in life.
“There’s something extraordinary about experiencing 200+ adults making music with passion, joy, and dedication,” says PMAC CEO Russ Grazier. “It’s a powerful reminder that creativity and self expression has no age limit.”
Admission is by suggested donation: $10 per person or $25 per family. Attendees are welcome to come and go throughout the event. Proceeds support PMAC’s Creative Aging Program. Food will be available for purchase on-site from DeStefano’s Market.
Featured PMAC Ensembles: Acoustic Coffeehouse, Alt Rock Band, Band of Hope, Bluegrass Ensemble, Brewery Lane Big Band, Classic Rock Band, Flute Choir, Jazz Pioneers, New Horizons Band, New Horizons Beginner Band, New Horizons Chamber Strings, New Horizons Chorus, New Horizons String Orchestra, Noon Tunes, Roots, Rock, Blues and Beyond, Saxophone Ensemble, Ukulele Circle Jam, and Ukulele Ensemble.
