PMAC's 17th Annual Jazz Night on May 11 to Include Tributes to Jazz Legends J. J. Johnson and Max Roach

PORTSMOUTH—PMAC is thrilled for the highly anticipated return of the 17th Annual Jazz Night concert on May 11th, 2024. The region’s top jazz musicians will ignite The Music Hall Lounge with the electrifying ambiance of an authentic NYC-style jazz club for two performances, at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. This year, the diverse set list will include tributes commemorating the 100th birthdays of jazz legends J. J. Johnson (trombone) and Max Roach (drums).

The 7-piece jazz ensemble features a talented roster of PMAC teaching artists: Eric Klaxton and Russ Grazier on saxophone, Josh Gagnon on trombone, Damian Bernardini on guitar, Jonny Peiffer on piano, Nick Phaneuf on bass, and Mike Walsh on drums. 

“Jazz Night is my favorite concert of the year,” expresses Russ Grazier, PMAC CEO and co-founder. “It brings together an all-star roster of PMAC teaching artists to perform special arrangements of jazz classics and more. Seventeen years in, this concert just gets better and better.”
