Helping Local Businesses Grow: Experienced Banking Leader Erik Mitchell Joins St. Mary’s Bank as Business Development Officer

 

With more than 13 years in banking and a strong commitment to supporting local businesses, Erik Mitchell joins St. Mary’s Bank as Business Development Officer, bringing insight and hands-on support to help business members grow and navigate what’s next.

PORTSMOUTH — Erik Mitchell began his career at Citizens Bank in Hampton,  quickly learning how to support members across a wide range of needs. From everyday transactions to more complex financial conversations, he built the adaptability and perspective needed to help business members meet their goals. During his time at Citizens Bank, Erik also served in the Army while completing both his undergraduate and graduate degrees.

While at Citizens Bank, Erik discovered his passion for working with businesses. “As I worked with local business owners, I saw how much heart goes into what they do,” he said. “Helping someone take an idea and grow it into something sustainable — that’s what really stuck with me.” 

Erik went on to become one of the first Small Business Specialists in his area before joining TD Bank in 2016, where he stepped into a leadership role as a store manager.  He later led branches across New Hampshire, including Gilford, Wolfeboro, Newington, and Plaistow — building strong relationships throughout the Seacoast and gaining experience in communities where small businesses are a vital part of everyday life.  

“What I love is that every day feels meaningful,” he said. “We’re not just answering questions, we’re supporting people as they build something for themselves, their families, and their communities.”
