All participants will be treated to a delicious lunch and drinks catered by Cisco Brewers Portsmouth, along with live music, kids’ activities and more. BBQ tickets for non-racers are available to purchase at on the registration page via kbicenter.org/help/community-events

Additionally, an exciting new fundraising incentive for 2024 is the chance to win one of five race branded Stanley 40 oz cups! Every $25 raised is one entry to win and there is no cap! Raise $100 and get four entries to win and so on. The impact of every racer entering just once, could mean more than $20,000 raised to support brain injury survivors!

Since 2004, this popular race/walk has benefited KBIC, the David Krempels Brain Injury Center, a local nonprofit whose mission is to improve the quality of life of people living with brain injury. Proceeds from this event go directly towards programming that helps brain injury survivors with skill building and social connection. Over 80% of members receive financial aid from KBIC to attend programs, with 50% attending for no cost at all! In total, the race has brought in over a half a million dollars to KBIC, significantly impacting the quality of life of brain injury survivors and families in our community.

About KBIC:

KBIC’s mission is to improve the quality of life of people living with brain injury through evidence-based programming, shared experiences, and support in a welcoming community. Established in 2000, KBIC is renowned for its top-notch therapeutic programs designed specifically for brain injury survivors. KBIC is a unique resource on the seacoast, being the sole service of its kind in New Hampshire and one of only a few across the nation.

Survivors of brain injuries often encounter challenges when trying to resume their previous roles at work, home, and in the community. KBIC offers opportunities for social interaction, skill development, and the exploration of new interests, both in-person and online. Within this vibrant learning community, survivors find healing through shared experiences, peer support, and therapeutic activities. Research conducted in collaboration with the University of New Hampshire has shown that KBIC members tend to enjoy a higher quality of life, experience less stress, and establish stronger social connections compared to typical brain injury survivors.
