Mayor McEachern Joins Recreation Department to Celebrate Veterans at Annual Breakfast

PORTSMOUTH—Portsmouth Mayor Deaglan McEachern helped the City's Recreation Department welcome 125 veterans to the annual breakfast Nov. 13 at the Portsmouth Senior Center, saying, "Portsmouth's character lies not in the buildings, but in the people — you, whose service never stopped and who continue to honor your commitment to making your city what it is. It is incredibly important to thank you, those who still serve, day in and day out. We are eternally grateful."

The Mayor was joined by City staff, Councilor Kate Cook and volunteers from Wilcox Industries. Edgewood Center donated pies to the veterans and Quilts of Valor honored three veterans with handmade quilts.
