Benchmark at Rye holds groundbreaking for assisted living expansion

RYE—On Oct. 10, Benchmark at Rye held a groundbreaking ceremony for the community’s 60K square foot addition, which will expand senior living options for area families with 70 assisted living private residences and a wide variety of indoor and outdoor common areas.

Common spaces will include a dining room with a hydroponic micro-farm, bistro with bar, several wellness spaces, an outdoor patio with fireplace, grill, resident gardens and more. In attendance were Rye town officials, chamber representatives from throughout the Seacoast area, Benchmark executives from its home office in Waltham, Mass., local politicians and others who have embraced this project for bringing much-needed senior living housing options to the greater Portsmouth area.
