I believe building meaningful connections with others is important. Superficial relationships don’t sit well with me. At the end of the day, I want to know what’s important to you and how I can contribute to your success. When I meet someone new I tend to begin with an assumption that I generally want to see you do well in Life. Of course that’s going to mean different things to different people. To me it’s a subtle but significant shift from the social messages I grew up with. Primarily, that in order to “succeed” you have to be ruthlessly selfish – a cutthroat. That’s never sat well with me either. I believe in fair, direct communications and work hard to ensure every decision is made with as much information as is available.
