Description

Gullinbursti Productions is proud to open the 27th season of The Players’ Ring with the world premier of The Pavement Artist, an original play by Lynne Cullen. A tale of love, war, and the power of art. Nobody saw the pavement artist unpack his chalks in the parking lot of Burke Publishing on the first day of summer in 1993. Saylor had been working on the Mural for a long time; now he was ready to finish it, twenty years after the last American combat soldier departed Vietnam. Saylor always worked alone. The day he walked into Spangler Burke’s parking lot, that would change. Gullinbursti Productions was formed by Lynne Cullen in 2016 for the purpose of producing her plays. In Norse mythology, Gullinbursti was a flying boar with golden bristles that shone in the dark – a good metaphor for the theater experience. About the Players’ Ring: Since 1992, the mission of The Players’ Ring has been to promote the efforts of local artists through the production of original works, while providing an affordable theatre space to local production companies. “The Ring” provides an environment where artists can thrive, grow, take risks and make daring choices.
