Description
Wentworth-Douglass Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) will host ‘The Beat Goes On – Understanding AFib in Women,’ a Women’s Heart Health Virtual Event on Thursday, February 25, at 6:00 p.m. through Zoom. Atrial fibrillation (AFib) is a type of arrhythmia (irregular heart rhythm) where the upper and lower chambers of the heart are not coordinated causing the heart to beat irregularly. AFib is the cause of one in seven strokes in the United States – and many women have AFib and do not know they have it.
‘The Beat Goes On’ attendees will learn about AFib in women, symptoms, and available treatments at this FREE, virtual community event during National Heart Health Month. Participants will hear from board-certified heart health experts: Dr. Whitney Coppolino of Wentworth Health Partners Cardiology at Pease and Dr. Michael Mazzini, of Massachusetts General Hospital and Medical Director of the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Center for Heart Health. Participants will also be entered in a drawing for a special gift.
