Description
Treat yourself to a special evening of jazz sponsored by the Seacoast Jazz Society at The Press Room where you’ll hear two amazing vocalists and an all-star band of musicians performing a wide mix of music including jazz, Latin, soul, and evocative original music.
PETER ELDRIDGE, vocals/piano
The band will be led by vocalist/pianist Peter Eldridge, founder of the internationally renowned New York Voices red-hot vocal jazz group. He has collaborated with such artists as Bobby McFerrin, Fred Hersch, Becca Stevens, Chanticleer, George Benson, Michael Brecker, David Byrne, Jonatha Brooke, Kurt Elling, the New West Guitar Trio,
Jane Monheit, the Swingles, Anat Cohen, Betty Buckley, Janis Siegel, Paula Cole, Jon Hendricks, and Mark Murphy. He is also the leader of five critically acclaimed albums (including the most recent ‘Somewhere’ with Kenny Werner, Eugene Friesen and string orchestra), and Peter is also a professor at Berklee College of Music.
CASSANDRE MCKINLEY, vocals
Joining Peter as his Special Guest will be Cassandre McKinley, a multi-genre vocalist who ranges from Jazz to Soul, to Blues, R&B, Pop and Country. She is also a composer, arranger, and Berklee professor. We are delighted that Cassandre is making this return visit to The Press Room after her incredible sell-out shows here last year.
MARK WALKER, drums
On drums and percussion will be Grammy-winning artist, Mark Walker, who has traveled throughout the world performing and recording with some of the greatest jazz artists of our time including Arturo Sandoval, Paquito D’Rivera, Randy Becker, and many others. He also teaches at Berklee.
IAN ASHBY, bass
Adding the bass notes to the evening will be Ian Ashby, who grew up in a family of musicians and has performed and/or recorded with the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra, Badi Assad, Danilo Perez, The New York Voices, the Manhattan Transfer, and more.
KEVIN SCOLLINS, guitar
Guitarist, Kevin Scollins, will round out the band. Awarded the prestigious “Jimi Hendrix Scholarship” at Berklee, Kevin has since worked with artists including Sean Jones, Wycliffe Gordan, Marshall Gilkes, Peter Eldridge, and Marlon Saunders, among others.
