Shemekia Copeland is an award-winning blues, soul, and Americana singer known for her powerful, soulful voice and fearless, honest music. Born in Harlem in 1979, she began performing at a young age and quickly became a force in the blues world. Her debut album, Turn The Heat Up, launched her career at 18, and she has since earned multiple Blues Music Awards and Grammy nominations. Copeland’s music blends bold social commentary with captivating melodies, as seen in albums like America’s Child, Uncivil War, and Done Come Too Far. Known for her dynamic stage presence, she has performed with legends like Bonnie Raitt, Carlos Santana, and B.B. King. Her latest album continues her exploration of America’s challenges and her vision for a more united future. Described as ?the greatest female blues vocalist working today, Copeland’s voice and message resonate deeply with audiences worldwide.
