Event Description:
From 2020 to 2023, homelessness in New Hampshire surged by 32%. But together, we can make a difference! Join the Alliance for Greater Good at the 2024 Lantern Festival for a celebration of community kindness and an opportunity to help those in need. We're partnering with Womenaid of Greater Portsmouth to provide critical financial assistance to those on the brink of homelessness.
What's Happening:
- Food Trucks: Enjoy delicious treats from the Whoo(pie) Wagon and Moe’s Italian Sandwiches!
- Activities: Music by DJ Skooch, lantern decorating, face painting, and a photo booth.
- Lantern Lighting: Watch as hundreds of lanterns float on the pond at dusk.
Lanterns will be retrieved later to keep our waterways clean. There is no fee to attend, but we encourage everyone to buy a lantern and support the cause.
Lantern Sales:
Available at the Portsmouth Historical Society gift shop and online.
