Explore how their kitchen and home reflect their resilience\, adaptation\, and role in the city's growing immigrant community. * Abbott House & Store: Visit the Abbott family's house and store\, where Bertha Abbot\, a widow\, welcomed neighbors with the help of local high schooler Leslie Clough during World War II. The corner store was a focal point for the community\, offering a warm place for conversation and connection during a time of rationing and uncertainty. * Wheelwright House: Step into the kitchen of an 18th-century home\, where cooking was done on an open hearth.
