DESCRIPTION:As part of the Portsmouth Symphony's ongoing mission to encourage the audiences and musicians of today and tomorrow\, we are pleased to announce "Family Matinees\," a series of four chamber music concerts expressly geared towards families and youth.\n\n\n\nThis exciting and transformative program pays homage to space travel and otherworldly themes\, featuring "Apollo" by Marc Mellits\, an eclectic set of miniatures commissioned by WindSync in 2019 in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission of July of 1969. The concert will also include selections from the Star Wars soundtrack and Gustav Holst's "The Planets".\n\nPSO Principal Winds is comprised of Aubrie Dionne\, flute\; Sarah Krebs\, oboe\; John Ferraro\, clarinet\; Melissa Grady\, bassoon\; and special guest Angela DiBartoloemo\, horn\n\n\n\nConcerts are held at St. John's Episcopal Church at 101 Chapel Street in Portsmouth\, NH at 3:00pm. There is a suggested $15 at-the-door donation per family. For our mainstage season subscribers\, admission is free.
