In the Shapiro House in 1919\, share the experience of a Jewish immigrant family who has recently come to Portsmouth from Ukraine and are learning about American Thanksgiving while keeping traditional customs. Last\, visit the Abbott House in 1943 when Portsmouth is in the midst of World War II. The war has changed jobs\, industry\, food\, and education   Thanksgiving was no exception.
