Best Employment Practices for Millenn...
Description
The Bank of New Hampshire Business Development Series focuses on workforce challenges of the small business community this fall. Be sure to experience all three great sessions.
This interactive workshop is geared towards anyone with responsibility for hiring and/or managing people in their organization and will apply a combination of discussion and case studies to learn.
Working with multiple generations in the workforce does require an awareness of the distinct differences born out of the culture that each generation was raised in.
Millennials, also known as Gen Yers, are those individuals born around 1980 to 2000. It is notable there is much debate about exactly when the generation starts and ends. What is generally not up for debate are the main distinguishing qualities, such as a desire to “work with management, not for management”, a need for regular, positive feedback, and an undeniably strong technology connection.
In this workshop, we’ll discuss more common qualities and the matching best management practices, including recruiting strategies. Each of the management approaches also has the dual benefit of creating a respectful, rewarding, and enjoyable work environment for all generations.
